1.They had been fighting for over 2 years they felt that it was just a daily activity.

3.they were taking them out of the war so they could go to school if that were me i would probably be scared because i wouldn't know whats going on.
4.Ishmael felt angry and anxious.

6.after passing the last checkpoint they saw soldiers who had trucks and had not yet been to war.
7. when the new arrivals arrived they ate and then they began fighting .
8. they are fighting because that is what they are use to doing fighting.

1. The men that they had encountered had guns and were dark like charcoal and had red eyes.
2. The setting in the beginning of the chapter was sad there was allot of death.
3.Life at Yele was lively with chatter and the soldiers smoked Marijuana.
4.He did not play because it reminded him of his family he was having migranes and nightmares.
5.he had a dream that he was shot in the head. A dream i had that kept me from sleeping was killer aliens.
6. Jabati was quiet he was feared and respected.
7. Ishmael did join the fight against the rebels if it were me i probably would to.
8. He tells them to join the fight or leave and he shows them the dead bodies of the people whoe had left earlier.
9. i think that his speech was somewhat inspiring.
10. the training regime was tough they were worked out and learned how to use guns.
11. They used the Banana trees to hide behind as cover.

ChaPtEr 14 ..!

1. Ishmael has become addicted to drugs and does more soldierly things instead of playing games.
2.He became addicted to cocaine but mostly the pills because they gave them a lot of energy.
3. There is hardly any difference between them and the rebels now they attack civilian villages and steal there supplies the only difference is they don't kill the civilians.
4. They watch movies and do drugs they also attack the rebels and civilians for supplies.
5. He thinks that killing is as easy as drinking water now.
6. He was similar to Rambo because he wanted to take out whole villages just like him.
7. I have never changed my personality completely i think that would be a bad thing.
8. They would surround there camp and then start shooting and then after the gun fight they would go and kill the wounded.
9.They are not careful with the civilians they just shoot.
10. I think that he was brainwashed the lieutenant controls them with drugs.
11. they practiced killing the rebels by cutting their throats.
12. They celebrated each night by killing a prisoner and the prisoner and died the fastest soldier would win.

14. I think that Ishmael is brainwashed now but i feel sorry for him everything that he has been threw there is nothing that he can do about it.

ChApTeR 13.....

1.The corporal told them to worship there lord because they might not get another chance.
2. They played there game in two teams and one team would ambush the other and capture all the team.
3. The bag of tablets were like capsules or pills that they gave them to boost there energy.
4. I think he had tears in his eyes because he was scared and did not know what was going to happen.

ChaPtEr 10 PaRt 2........... lIkE YAhhhh

1.The unsettling thing abut his journey was that he wasn't sure when or where it was going to end.
2. The boys were always on the move because the rebels would eventually reach other villages.
3. Ishmael's mood in the beginning of the chapter was reminiscing on memories and was not happy.
4. He compares his journey with that of the moon.
5.i think that he means when someone he cares for dies a part of him dies.
6. The bra spider was a spider that wanted to go to all the feast but did not end up going to any.
7. One of my fondest memories with my family is when we were altogether.
8. The dog took their meat.
9.Musa's was at home with his father when the attacked happened and his mother at the market then his father went for his mother and he never seen them again.

ChApTer 10 !!!! PaRt 1.....

1. They felt like strangers but they felt welcome i think.
2.His grandmother would call him a carseloi when he would play tricks on his brother.
3. He missed his grandmothers hands, his moms embrace, his fathers laughter, and his brothers arms around him.
4. They did not want to hear the bra spider because they already knew it to well.
5. The naming ceremony tells me that they are very religious and generous people.

ChApTeR 1 Pt. 1 & pT.2

1.They talked about how they walked hundreds of miles and how there relatives were killed and they did no stay they kept on walking they said the war would eventually reach the town.
2. He was first affected by the war when he was 12.
3. They were fascinated by rap music "the four of us sat there mesmerized by the song".
4. They were leaving to Mattru Jong.
5.They took slingshots, they wore three pairs of socks soccer shorts and sweatpants.
6.He took there clothes and ran with them.
7. He makes them seem like very nice people and that his grandpa is very well known.
8. They stayed in the verandah room of Khaililous house.
9. The rebels had attacked the village.
10. They went to the wharf to find out information, they decided to go back and look for there families.
11. The dad and the mom were not together and the dad kept on getting new step moms that were not good for his kids.
12.They told them that too much blood had been spilled where they were going.
13. People started arriving from the mining area there was whispers and cries from people and children looking for their parents.

16. They said that the war was a passing phase that would not last more than three months.

CHAPTER 6 ADOBE!!!! YEYAH!

ChApTeR 6 QuEsTiOnS!!!!!!!!

1.Some advantages are that your a bigger group so you can help each other out. disadvantages are that you have to share food and you may been seen easier because its a bigger group of people.
2. They might be mistaken for a refugee and be forced to do things that they don't want to.
3. They would walk by the nearby bushes.
4. Consequences of the war were that people stopped trusting each other and every stranger became an enemy.
5. A boy from Mattru Jong saved them.
6.He offered them a place to stay in his village.
9.It was the season for planting and rain was falling.
10. They did it as part of a ceremony to than the ancestors and the gods for providing fertile soil, healthy rice, and a successful farming year.
11. He saw that tough days lay ahead.
12.It was difficult to chop them down they had to use axes and swing machetes the weight of the axes would sometimes send them flying.

14.Yes i can relate to being a misfit because i use to always be in trouble and stuff like that.

16. The significance of the ending of the chapter is that it is very sad and that was the last time he ever saw his brother.

ChApTeR 3 QuEsTiOnS!!!!!

•1.The letter simply informed the people of Mattru Jong that the rebels were coming and wanted to be welcomed since they were fighting for them.

•2.RUF stands for Revolutionary United Front. They saw it carved on a mans body.

•4. A palampo is a single person and no my family does not worry about me being a palampo.

•4.Boys in the U.S. are lucky they don’t have to do thing like the boys in Sierra Leone they are not forced to do drugs or anything they don’t want to do they are not forced to kill people either.

•1.The first two paragraphs are talking about death and stuff. There is a lot of blood and dead bodies. There is kids with guns that kill people. It also says that the kids carry the dead bodies and dispose of them.

LaSt SecTioN EnD Of THe bOoK!!!!

1.The aspects that died of him in this whole ordeal was his faith. What also died was his sympathy and his empathy. He looks back and realizes how lucky he was Hate was born in its palce. I think that it is crazy that none of them wanted revenge. I would have wanted revenge they took away millions of people lifes.
2.The symbolisims is like dark and hate and violence because there was a lot of that.
3.It shows what he went threw it show everything and tries to give us an image of what happened.
4. I think that survivors often feel guilty becasue they wonder why they did not die and how come all those other people did. If i was a survivor i would have felt the same as the other people.
5. He was in the hospital at the end of the book and he had heard a rumor that someone invaded.
6. This book is relevant today because it tells us everything. It gives us someones own personall life story and the affect that it had on them. It shows us how these people were treated.
7. Elies father had a big impact on him and desire to live. When Elie would see his father it made him try hared to stay alive and be strong his dad motvated him. The second person i think that influenced him was the rabbis son because he just left his father. Elie thought how can you do that it probably made him think thats how he wants to act.
8.One person in my life that strengthens my hopes is my dad. He motvates me in everything. He motvates me just by being there for me.

Ch 6. SeCt1....!!!!!

1.The SS officers disgust me they are heartless people. They kill a lot of people and do alot of horrible things.
2. I think that these unfortunate events are very sad. These people are not in there right state of mind though. This makes me feel sad. I think that they do effect the relationship between Elie and his father. I think that the son abondoned his father beacuse he was not in his right state of mind and because he felt that he did not want to have to take care of his father. I would never do that to my father that is wrong or to anyone that i love i would stay there and help them. I would do whatever it takes to survive together. I would not fight over food with my loved one.
3.I think that they say that because he is very important. They are religious so thats why they say it. They see god as almighty and that he is the master of the universe.

Ch 5 sect 2.....!!!!!

1.They prayed when they were eating all together.
2. He always ask himself why, he says that God is dead, He says that if god existed that he would not let this stuff happen.
3. A lot of people attended the service they were praying.
4. What made them decide to fast or not to but they did anyways even though they were in the camp.

Ch.5 sEcT...1!!!!!

1.He looses his faith in God because he has seen a lot of horrible things. He sees people starving and people being killed. He probably wonders why God is not there helping him and why God is letting all this happen. He starts asking himself how does God let this happen.
2. His relationship between him and his father has changed because his father is growing weak and he gets frustrated. I can not relate to this relationship. I do not have a relationship like this only with my family.
3.His foot was infected but he got it treated. I think that his fate is luck and that he could have got his leg amputated but he got it treated.

1. Elie was fascinated by everything that was going on and what was happening.
2. It was not easy to take showers because all of the prisoners wanted to take showers and the sick people were not allowed to take showers.
3. The father was sick and very ill and he did not feel like he could go on anymore. His will changed from striving to survive.
4. He felt like his father was already dead and he was just talking to himself and that his father would not listen.
5. He was ashamed of his father being so weak and him having to take care of his father.
6. He did not eat anything because his father was sick and his stomach was hurting and he wanted water.
7. His father is dying and he is very sick and very weak.
8. You are suppose to just worry about yourself and not share your food and not worry about anyone else.
9. His father was hit in the head and then the next day he died so that was his last memory.

11. Elie did not cry because he did not know how to feel.
12.He means that he only has to worry about himself now and no one else.

CH.8 SeCtIoN 1 .....

1.Elzier treats his father like a sick person. His father is dying and needs care so Wiesel has to take care of him. Wiesel father try hard to survive. His father did not like the facts that his son was caring for him.
2. I think that his attitude toward his father was understandable. I think that he was mad because he was the one that had to care for his father but he was not in his right state of mind so that is why he kind of acted like that.
3.Elzier cried when the little boy in the story was hung. He knew that it was wrong and that they should not have done that. He did not cry when his father died becuase he did not know how to feel anymore he was not capable of crying.
4.He was very sick and he had food poising. I would tell him that he is a very strong person and im sorry for all his loss and that it was very sad and tragic what happened to him. I would want him to explain to me the living conditions and stuff like that.

1.The setting is basically on the train they are traveling to there destination.
2. That it would be the same thing because it feels like he is dead already.
3. I don't think that he would have the motivation to live.
4. The people took the clothes off the dead bodies and threw them off the train into the snow.
5. Life was hell for them in this chapter they were starved and they were used for amusement.
6. They were men that fought to the death for the bread crumbs.

ChApTeR 7 PaRt..... 1

1.He tried waking him up he slapped him and he woke up before the other people got the chance to throw him off.
2. The father was on his hands and knees and he then ate bread and his son attacked him for it and the father died and then the son was killed.
3. 12 People had gotten out of the wagons They had arrived at Buchenwald.
4.His father was weaker than he was at this point so the son had to look out and watch his father more for that he wont get killed or hurt.
5.If i was in Elie's father position i would be depressed. I would be so weak and tired. If i was Elie's father i would feel like i have failed but i did not i tried. I would feel like i was about to die and would have to leave my son by himself and i would not want to do that. If i was Elie's father i would behave weak there would be nothing i could do about anything. I would react slow to things my thoughts would be different. I am struggling to survive and cant provide my son everything that he needs.

cHaPtEr 1 pArT 2 !

1. Moche the beadle was a man of all work at a Hasidic synagogue and people were fond of him.
2.Elie is the little boy that is telling the story he is like a kid that believes in god and prays alot.

I think that they are crying because the boy is so young. I think it made it more sad because he suffered he did not die imediatly. They cried because they could not help him and they had to watch him hang there in pain. What was meant by god was with him in the gallows was that he was there dying like his faith was dying. It symbolizes that his faith was dying. It will change him because he will not ne religious. It will make his look on the camp different to becuase he will look at the officers as even more horrble and evil people than they already are. If he looses his faith that will just make him weak. He already looks at the camp as a hell so i think that it will not really make his outlok on the camp that much different.

•Part1- he questioned his faith a lot. He did not believe that god was watching over him because bad things were happening. His family had been taken to a concentration camp and they were being treated poorly. That is why he was questioning his faith. I personally do belive in god and there are times I wonder why god lets things happen but everything happens for a reason its just part of gods plan.

•Part 2- the Nazis were horrible people. They would tell the people things like “poor devils your going to the crematory” and a sign that read" warning danger of death”. My family has been striped away from me before. When I was locked up. My family was also taken away from me when my dad gets locked up. I know it sucks to be away from your family and that it Is sad. The Nazis would take families and tear them apart from each other.

•Part 3- They are obeying them because they are scared. They are obeying them because they have no other choice. If they do not listen they will have a horrible punishment. They would be tortured and starved and killed. They would not revolt because they are scared of what will happen . They did not have any weapons either and they did. They had an advantage. I think that they also don’t team up because some of the people are to scared to.
